Our History

Sanctuary Memorial Park, formerly known as Num Leong Realty Sdn. Bhd. was originally set up as a property development company in the 1980's. The planned development of a residential area was shelved at the onset of a recession at that time. A period of inactivity ensued. Sanctuary Memorial Park was finally borned as a result of the founder's foresight in anticipating the ever increasing demand for good quality and well located private memorial park in the vicinity of Johor Bahru.

Founder

Our founder, the late Mr. Loh Seng Tek, or more well known as "Loh Ban Thye" was borned and bred in Johor. A well known figure who had lived a big part of his life here in Ulu Tiram, knew almost everyone in the town. A strong supporter of the Hakka Association, various Chinese Associations and the Chinese School here, he demonstrated his dedication to the Chinese societies here at large through participations in their activities and donations. The incorporation of Sanctuary Memorial Park was part of his contribution back to Ulu Tiram and the people who had supported him throughout his life.

Officers

Sanctuary Memorial Park is currently led by Mr. Loh Wei Tak. An accountant by training who graduated from Monash University in Melbourne has been involved in the construction, design, and operational matters since the inception of Sanctuary Memorial Park. His day-to-day involvement in the operational matters continues to ensure that Sanctuary Memorial Park lives up to its name of providing excellent service and product to all its customers.

License to Operate

We like to provide all our customers the added assuarance that Sanctuary Memorial Park is a legitimate memorial park operator. The original approval letter from the Johor Government can be viewed at our office with prior notice.

Trustee

The biggest concern our customers have is the mantainence of the tombstones, urn columbarium and park facilities in the long run. As our customers have paid a one time lifetime maintenance fee and those fee are entrusted to an approved Trustee by the Malaysian Government, Rockwills Trustee Berhad (Company No:708932-T), rest assured that there will be sufficient fund to maintain the park in the long-term.
